Eugene Coleman House
Located in the South of Market district, this $15M mixed-use development, consisting of 85 units of affordable senior housing over commercial retail and non-profit office tenant spaces, was developed by TODCO Development, a private non-profit residential developer.
The site, in the South of Market (SOMA) district of San Francisco, is very interesting in that it faces two very distinct and different environments. On Howard Street, the building faces the new Moscone West convention
facility across the street and the downtown skyline beyond. The street is wide, the scale is large and the building strives to achieve what our client refers to as a “downtown” look. The commercial retail space occupies the street level and the residential levels above are expressed in vertical pairs to create a larger scale appropriate to the neighborhood.
